The Bakery at Sullivan University Hires New Head Chef and Manager Robin Richardson
Sullivan University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies (NCHS) is proud to announce that alumnus Robin Richardson has been hired as head chef and manager of the school’s retail bakery, The Bakery at Sullivan University. Richardson brings considerable experience with specialty cakes to The Bakery, and customers can expect to find new offerings like full size cakes, cake by the slice, pies and expanded lunch selections alongside classic favorite pastries and candies.
“It is so exciting to be returning to my alma mater to run The Bakery at Sullivan University,” says Richardson. “Baking is my outlet for creativity, and I am happy to share my inspiration with our wonderful customers.”
Richardson was raised in her family’s restaurant, where she began learning techniques and helping her mother with desserts during her preschool years. Her first job was at a pizza restaurant, where she made dough from scratch. Although Richardson worked as a realtor in Florida and a loan officer in Louisville for several years, she was always hopeful that she would return to the kitchen full time. As a way to refine her talents, she would make specialty cakes for her children, many of which were modeled after the hit reality series “Ace of Cakes.” After returning to school and earning her degree from Sullivan University in 2009, Richardson joined the team at Desserts by Helen in the heart of Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood. Richardson specializes in creative cakes and chocolate showpieces and loves to bring the “wow factor” to stock items and special orders.
