CAFÉ is pleased to announce that it will have two foodservice instructor/ leadership events in 2022.
8th Annual Deans and Directors Retreat
A new one-day format for our annual thought-leaders event.
Where? Portland, Maine, hosted by Southern Maine Community College.
Topics to be discussed includes keynoters, panels, and small discussion groups on the Future of Culinary Arts Education.
This event has always been a must-attend conference since it gathers postsecondary deans and directors and allows them to discuss and hear ideas on topics that are facing them as they go forward.
Cost: $299.00 This includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and invitation to the opening night reception of the Leadership Conference which begins on the evening of June 22.

BONUS: if you wish to stay for the Leadership Conference (see outline below), you get a discount on each event. To attend both the Deans and Directors Retreat and Leadership Conference the total registration fee is $499.00.
16th Annual CAFÉ Leadership Conference June 22-24, 2022
Where? Portland, Maine, hosted by Southern Maine Community College.
Open to all foodservice instructors and their leaders.

- An offering of hands-on master classes on Wednesday, June 22, in the afternoon.
- An opening night reception featuring trends in foodservice
- An all-day Industry Outreach with keynote and break out sessions to keep you up to date with the “new” world we are living in.
- An all-day Educational Best Practices Day helping you with ideas for your classroom outreach
- The showing of the movie “A Fine Line” about the challenges facing women in the foodservice arena
Cost: $399.00 This includes ACF continuing education hours, reception, two breakfasts and two lunches and transportation to the host school from our downtown hotel. Special pricing for those who wish to attend both events.

This Award identifies culinary programs that either (1) teach or encourage entrepreneurship in their programming or (2) implement revenue-generation and cost savings into their programs.
Entrepreneurship can be a part of a program’s design and includes qualities of visionary leadership. Students can learn about innovation and ideation via their college or community. The Entrepreneurship Award will be judged by the quality of the design and applicability of the outreach whether it is project or concept based.

We are pleased to announce that the 2022 Green Award will be offered to individuals/culinary programs that emphasize sustainability or other “green” aspects in their programs.
This Award is sponsored by the United Soybean Board who is proud to reach out to educators and to recognize their efforts instructing students in the importance of agriculture in their selection of products and designing of menus.
